I suck at Final Cut!
Turns out that video editing with Final Cut Express isn't quite as intuitive for someone who doesn't like reading directions as I had hoped. Nonetheless, I persevered with my brute force introduction, and have something very exciting to share with you from the Portland cd release event last weekend.
Check it out:
Jeff Peterson is my new best friend
The pink shirt and "booth voice" belong to the famous photographer, Tanja Hollander, and yes, they spelled my name wrong despite filming me spelling it.
Please forgive the crappy edits and unprofessional compression scheme. A bit of outside assistance and more practice on my part will yield a better version eventually.
Looks great to me! You are a super star now.
Posted by: fdw at April 28, 2005 06:57 AMCongrats on the coverage, Halsey - that is really great!
I'll bet you also use that line about making "beautiful sounds" with all the ladies...is there a lock on the inside of that booth, or what? ;-)
Posted by: Amitabh at April 28, 2005 08:37 AMha! there *is* a lock on the inside, but I have no idea what you are referring to.
the booth is intended for pure and innocent activities only (though I will admit that not everyone sees it this way...)
An intimate booth with a lock on the inside? No wonder you attract so many people to these events!
Wicked cool coverage. I have new respect for Maine folk who know a good thing when they see it. (Like a booth with a lock on the inside...)
Posted by: holypetunia at April 28, 2005 06:39 PMthe newsguy says: "too bad he didn't record our newscast and put it in his music, guffaw, guffaw..."
i think you should capture that, and insert it at the end of the album that will be created.
CONGRATS!
Posted by: geoff at April 29, 2005 07:55 AMah, yes! I am capturing stuff from as many media interactions as I can to make a song entirely of media people talking to me or about me. my god, I am narcissistic!
that clip is definitely going to be fantastic.
of course, I'll probably get sued by everyone for doing it, but who knows...
Capturing “moments of beauty all around us” - very nice.
Congrats Halsey! Fabulous.
